Review of Fourier analysis of signals; convolution and correlation; filtering, sampling, and multiplexing and modulation of signals; introduction to probability with applications in communications. Credit will only be given for one of EECE 359 or EECE 369, although EECE 359 is not equivalent to EECE 369. [3-0-2]
Course Outline
This course provides an introduction to the analysis of signals and systems. The main focus will be on techniques in signal analysis in both continuous-time and well as discrete-time. Students will learn how to use Fourier transforms. Course topics will include convolution, correlation, filtering, sampling, multiplexing, amplitude, phase, and pulse modulation. Applications will range across electrical, mechanical, chemical, biomedical, and biological systems.
