Our biophotonics group conducts research and experiments that provide students with insight into such methods as early cancer detection and glucose monitoring for diabetes patients. Students spend much of their time in the lab learning the real world applications for studying biological materials using light.
By teaching students techniques such as microscopy, imaging and absorption spectroscopy, our aim is to provide them with the necessary tools and experience they will need to succeed in their future endeavors as industry leaders. And by collaborating with partners such as the BC Cancer Research Centre, students are able to gather invaluable contacts and knowledge from established industry professionals.
