Vikram Krishnamurthy receives Honorary Doctorate from KTH

Congratulations to Prof. Vikram Krishnamurthy for receiving an Honorary Doctorate at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.

Vikram Krishnamurthy is the Senior Canada Research Chair in Signal Processing and world-leading researcher in the area of signal processing. Prof. Krishnamurthy is a frequent guest researcher at KTH. He has given courses and supervised doctoral students from several of KTH’s schools and contributes strongly to the research exchange between KTH and UBC.

At UBC, Prof. Vikram Krishnamurthy contributes to the Biomedical and Multimedia Signal Processing research group with a focus on statistical signal processing, stochastic control, game theory, stochastic optimization applications in cognitive radio, molecular biology, sensor networks and smart grids.

KTH in Stockholm is the largest, oldest and most international technical university in Sweden. No less than one-third of Sweden’s technical research and engineering education capacity at university level is provided by KTH. Education and research spans from natural sciences to all the branches of engineering and includes architecture, industrial management and urban planning. The purpose of the appointment of honorary doctors is to honour individuals who have done outstanding work while at the same time providing KTH with positive attention.
