Harshul Srivastava Wins Larry K. Wilson Award

Congratulations to Harshul Srivastava for receiving the Larry K. Wilson Regional Student Activities Award in recognition of his exemplary service to the UBC IEEE Student Branch.

Harshul joined IEEE five years ago during his first year of engineering. His initial motivation for joining IEEE was primarily related to academic benefits and competitions. “However, after my first year of membership, I realized that IEEE had so much to offer in terms of mentoring, professionalism, networking, leadership and academics. I actively participated in student branch activities and helped out many IEEE sub teams to gain leadership experience. I feel very proud in leading the Oldest, Largest and Best Student Branch in Canada. As a team we have organized so many events that we have a system to do things. This is what I like about IEEE student Branch. It tries to make an event organizing experience as smooth as possible.”

Some of Harshul’s favourite IEEE Student Branch moments include: working with the team organizing Think Engineering, one of the largest student industry dinners in Vancouver, helping to organize the Germany and US field trips and hanging out in the IEEE office.

After Graduation, Harshul will join Shell Oil Company in July as an Engineer-In-Training (Graduate Development Program) in Control, Measurement and Automation department.
