Dr. Li is an incoming Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) starting August 2021.
Before joining UBC, Dr. Li was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Computer Science Department at Princeton University. Dr. Li obtained her Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University in 2020. During her Ph.D., she was awarded the Advanced Graduate Leadership Fellowship. She received the honored Bachelor‘s Degree at Chu Kochen Honors College, Zhejiang University in 2015. Her research interest lies in the interdisciplinary field of artificial intelligence and biomedical data analysis, aiming to improve the AI systems’ trustworthiness and reliability for healthcare applications. She has published at many machine learning and medical imaging conferences and journals, such as MICCAI, IPMI, ICML, ICLR, and Medical Image Analysis. Her work has received OHBM Merit Abstract Award, MIML Best Paper Award, and DART Best Paper Award.
Dr. Li welcomes self-motivated M.Sc. and Ph.D. candidates, who are interested in artificial intelligence and healthcare applications. Having a background in mathematics and/or coding is a plus.
