Power Electronics for Modern Power Systems

How does energy from wind turbines or solar panels reach your home? How can we build off-grid energy systems to power remote communities? And how do we provide affordable, clean electricity to the 3 billion people living in energy poverty globally? This new graduate course offers an in-depth exploration of utility-level power electronics – the technology that makes all of this possible. You will dive into the operation and control strategies of power electronics in modern power systems and learn how they are shaping smarter, cleaner, and more resilient power grids. It is a perfect class for students passionate about clean energy, power electronics, and smart grids.
