Programs

UBC’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has large, world-class graduate programs, with currently over 400 graduate students registered. The contributions our graduate students and alumni make are vital to the growth of the Department and to UBC as a whole.

Our ECE Department offers two Masters degrees: Masters of Applied Science (MASc) and Masters of Engineering (MEng). Candidates looking to continue their education beyond the Masters level can apply for the Doctoral Program (PhD).

For all information on program details and admission procedures for each of our programs, please choose the program you are interested in below.

The Master of Engineering Leadership (MEL) program in Dependable Software Systems will be paused in January 2024 in order to do a comprehensive curriculum review and assessment.

A note to all prospective students: M.Eng., M.A.Sc., or Ph.D. degrees alone do not form an acceptable basis for application to Associations of Professional Engineers in Canada. For more information about this, please visit the UBC Academic Calendar.
