Zhi Jin (Justin) Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. He received the BASc degree in Engineering Science and the MASc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, and the PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
His research aims to develop advanced operation strategies as well as power electronics technologies for power-electronics-based power grids, such as HVDC/AC transmission systems and AC/DC microgrids, to enable large-scale integration of modern energy resources and loads, and to support the modernization of electric power systems.
Dr. Zhang welcomes PhD and MASc applicants interested in power electronics and power systems. Detailed information can be found on his research group website (https://pesil.ece.ubc.ca/).
