Open Robotics is dedicated to teaching valuable engineering skills, designing robots, and fostering an enriching environment. Our team is currently engaged in one major project: our Home-Assistant Robot.
The team is an excellent fit for ECE students seeking hands-on experience. Members work on PCB and circuit design using tools such as Altium, KiCAD, LTSpice, and Git. The roles involve a combination of both hardware and firmware tasks, providing exposure to various aspects of electrical engineering. The team fosters a supportive, close-knit community where members actively mentor one another. The connections among sub teams allows for better training of new members and ensuring thorough hardware validation.
Our most ambitious project is in the midst of a redesign as we refine our development processes. This is a perfect opportunity to get involved in the design, construction, and integration of a large-scale project. Utilizing ROS, the project is divided into five subteams: arm, drivetrain, gripper, power system, and software.
