Vikram Krishnamurthy

Vikram Krishnamurthy received his PhD from the Australian National University, Canberra, in 1992. He is currently a professor and holds the Canada Research Chair in Statistical Signal Processing at the Department of Electrical Engineering, UBC. Prior to 2002, he was a chaired professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Melbourne, Australia, where he also served as deputy head of the department. His current research interests include game theory, stochastic optimization and control and their applications in sensor networks, wireless communication networks, radars and computational biology.

Dr. Krishnamurthy is a Fellow of IEEE. In 2009 and 2010 he serves as Distinguished lecturer for the IEEE Signal Processing Society. From 2010 he serves as Editor in Chief of IEEE Journal Selected Topics in Signal Processing. He has served as associate editor for several journals including IEEE Transactions Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions Aerospace and Electronic Systems, IEEE Transactions Nanobioscience, and Systems and Control Letters. He has successfully supervised over 30 graduate students, many of whom have become famous in their own right.
