Best Paper Award to Eddie Hung, Al-Shahna Jamal and Steve Wilton

The Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Field-Programmable Technology in Kyoto, Japan went to ECE’s Eddie Hung, Al-Shahna Jamal and Prof. Wilton for their paper titled, “Maximum Flow Algorithms for Maximum Observability During FPGA Debug”.

Eddie Hung is a Post-doctoral Fellow with ECE’s Systems-on-Chip Lab, who’s PhD was supervised by Prof. Wilson and Al-Shahna is an ECE undergraduate student who received a USRA NSERC award to work with Prof. Wilson last summer. The paper describes techniques to improve the turn-around time between an initial prototype and a working integrated circuit. The key contribution is a new network construction that allows users to observe what is going on inside an integrated circuit.

The International Conference on Field-Programmable Technology is the premier conference in the Asia-Pacific region on field-programmable technologies including reconfigurable computing devices and systems containing such components.
