Martina Iapichino

Dr. Martina Iapichino received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and her Master of Science cum Laude in Nanotechnology and Material Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). She then received her PhD in Physics at Université Côte d’Azur (France), running a project in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) about individual and collective motility in microbial systems. Dr. Iapichino has been a Postdoctoral Fellow at the UBC Faculty of Applied Science since 2019. Her current areas of research are Microfluidics, MEMS and Sensors. Her main projects cover Microneedle fabrication for biomedical applications, and the development of sensors for continuous monitoring of electrolytes in human patients.
