Nima Taherinejad, New Chair of AUTO21 HQP Advisory Committee

As newly elected chair of the HQP Advisory Committee (HQPAC), Nima Taherinejad hopes to increase student engagement in AUTO21 Network activities.

Nima works with the Power Line Communication for Electric Vehicles project led by Dr. Lutz Lampe. This research team is studying ways to reduce the amount of wiring in electrical vehicles dedicated explicitly to communication. This change lowers production costs and increases mileage. Nima recently won the People’s Choice Award in the 2013 AUTO21 HQP Video Competition for his video Free Lunch Love describing his power line research. Nima has had a really good year; he also won a Best in Theme award at the 2010 AUTO21 HQP Poster Competition.

AUTO21 is creating a dynamic Canadian research and development community and helping researchers contribute to a sustainable, globally-competitive Canadian automotive sector. The HQP is AUTO21’s program for Highly Qualified People. This program provides networks and forums for colleagues to share their work by hosting events and helping to develop the careers of student researchers.
