Orcun Goksel wins WAGS/UMI Innovation in Technology Award

Recently graduated PhD student Orçun Göksel won the WAGS/UMI Innovation in Technology Award for his doctoral dissertation. The Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) and University Microfilms International (UMI)’s Innovation in Technology award is given either to a master’s thesis or to a doctoral dissertation and is intended to recognize the innovative application of technology to scholarship. WAGS has 89 member institutions from 13 states and 3 Canadian provinces and every year chooses one winner for this award among nomination from all those institutions. Orçun received both his master’s and PhD degrees in ECE at UBC, and is currently working as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the department.
