Welcome to our visiting students from IIT-Jodhpur!

This summer, five students from the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT-J) will be joining ECE to collaborate on projects from the Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) initiative.

The five visiting students, Rinku Meena, Rahul Malav, Rajat Jain, Yogendra Goyal and Junaid Masood, met with faculty members to discuss potential projects at an informal welcome last Friday.

The four projects from CLL will help to create a new paradigm promoting sustainability, partnerships and learning. Two students will work with Professor Sathish Gopalakrishnan and Professor Jose Marti on improving energy consumptions in “Smart Buildings”. Professor Karthik Pattabiraman and Professor Marti along with two IIT-J students will design cyber security for the smart grid. Finally, Professor Marti will work with one student to develop smart meters for power measurement.

The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur is located in the Indian state of Rajasthan. ECE is a strong supporter of the Living Lab initiative at UBC though research, student engagement and infrastructure support.
